Despite the popularity of blogs in the Philippines, one niche that hasn’t really gained that much fame is the personal finance-related blogs. I think this is mainly because the banking and finance industry hasn’t really caught on. I’ve been invited to blog meets related to banking but they all felt like a traditional press conference for mainstream media.
I find myself facing some difficulties when researching about money online. When I try to check interest rates for savings accounts, I need to visit all the banks’ corporate websites. Sometimes, however, the websites are outdated that the interest rates are also not updated.
Recently, I discovered a website that attempts to provide all the bank rates not only here in the Philippines but the rest of the world. Whether you have accounts here in the Philippines or elsewhere, you can just visit International Deposit Rates Exchange and compare the rates.
I find this site very helpful I can look at the rates in one glance. I can check out rates for time deposits, term deposits, savings accounts, etc. You can even compare how rates fare in the Philippines compared to the rest of the world. And it also has a currency conversion table!
Yeah, I’m such a geek but I do check currency conversions every once in a while since I do spend a little bit of time travelling outside the country. It helps me plan the budget I need to set for my trips.
Do check out International Deposit Rates Exchange and browse around. If you’re looking for the different deposit rates for Philippine banks, you’ll find that this website is a very helpful tool.
